Armed Forces Day - Cadet Uniforms Friday 24 June 2022

Armed Forces Day, Saturday 25 June - Service Cadets/Scouts/Guides Uniform on Friday
We are very conscious of the community work that is done by many of our students outside of school, through a number of different organisations. At this time of year such organisations strongly support Armed Forces Day, which takes place on Saturday 25 June 2022. Therefore, in recognition of this we are determined to promote the great work of students involved in Army, Air, Sea and Police Cadets, St. John’s Ambulance, and the Scouting and Guiding movements.
I am writing to invite all such students to wear their Cadet, Scout or Guide uniform on Friday 24 June 2022 in support of Armed Forces Day which follows the next day. This of course is an important day and I understand that many of our students have expressed a desire to show their respect by wearing such uniforms, if they so wish.
If your son or daughter chooses to take up this invitation, I would request that they come to school in their normal school uniform if possible. Should students wish to wear either their beret or full service uniform around the school, they should bring it with them in a bag and change at the academy on arrival, then change back into their academy uniform at the end of the school day. They will be able to store their normal uniform safely at school once changed, and will not be expected to carry it around with them during the school day.
The reply slip is on the bottom of a letter that was handed out on Wednesday, and spares are available from Reception or can be printed below.
