Covid-19 Schools Infection Survey, Antibody Tests - 21 January 2021

Thu 21 Jan 2021
We are part of the Covid-19 School Infection Survey, delivered by the Office for National Statistics and Public Health England. The aim of the study is to better understand transmission rates of Covid-19 among students and school staff.

We have participated in two rounds of testing in the Autumn term which involved both Covid tests and Antibody Tests to identify if participants have previously had Covid-19.

During this lockdown period, the School Infection Survey are inviting students and staff (who have not previously) to participate in Anti-body tests, which will be delivered directly to participant's home address.

For pupils this is an oral fluid (saliva) sample which involves putting a small sponge into the mouth for two minutes to test for the antibodies against the COVID-19 virus.

For staff this is a blood test which will involve a finger prick, to test for the antibodies against the COVID-19 virus.

Please see the attached sheet to find out about how to register. Registration for this round closes on 27 January.

Results from previous anti-body tests should be received by participants by the end of January.
