On Friday 28 June, students in the Air Cadets and Army Cadets requested to wear their uniforms in school as a mark of request. We are keen to show our support for the local cadet groups, and of course their request was honoured. In November for Remembrance, we will also be marking our respect by encouraging students in the Air, Army and Sea cadets to wear their uniforms in school, alongside students in the Scouts and Guides, and other volunteer groups who take part in Remembrance Parades across Teesside around 11 November each year.
It was fantastic to see our young people looking so smart in their uniforms, obviously worn with pride, and as a result they will also have raised awareness of the cadet groups locally, hopefully encouraging more students to get involved too. Thank you to Ella who is an Army cadet, and Morgan, Joshua and Harvey who are Air cadets.
Some great photos of the Armed Forces Parade that took place in Redcar on Saturday 29 June. Also spotted was our own Betty Y10 and Alfie Y7, who are in the Local Vocals choir. Alfie in the Junior Choir, and Bettie in the Seniors, but helps coach at the Junior too. Why not get involved, meet new people, and develop your singing skills? The Junior Choir meet at Whale Hill Community Centre on Fridays 5.00pm-6.30pm.
