Changes to self-isolation periods for those who have been in close contact with positive Covid-19 cases

Fri 11 Dec 2020

The Government have announced that the required period of self isolation for those who have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid has been reduced from 14 days to 10 days from Monday, 14 December 2020.

This means that any individuals who have completed 10 days of isolation by Monday, 14 December, can then return to work/school and do not have to complete the full 14 days. Similarly, anyone who completes 10 days of isolation in the days following this, can also return to work/school after the 10 days.

Please note: The NHS Covid App is not expected to be updated to reflect this change until Thursday, 17 December.

Example changes to return dates:
If return was due to be Tuesday, 15 they can now return on Monday, 14 December
If return was due to be Wednesday, 16 they can now return on Monday, 14 December
If return was due to be Thursday, 17 they can now return on Monday, 14 December

This means that the group of Year 11 students who are currently self-isolating can return on Monday 14 December and we look forward to welcoming them back to school.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we move towards the festive period and try to keep students, staff and our community safe and well.
