Year 11 Leavers' 2021 Breakfast/Celebration/Assembly - 18 June 2021

Tue 15 Jun 2021

We are really looking forward to welcoming our incredible Year 11 back to school on Friday 18 June, to celebrate with a special Leavers’ Breakfast, Assembly, and Awards Ceremony. After a chance to recover following huge efforts in school since lockdown, we’re hoping for some sunshine and a chance to enjoy each other’s company one last time in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It will be a great occasion for our 2021 Leavers to say goodbye to their classmates, teachers and support staff.

Mrs Rowe, Learning Manager and her team are working hard to make the occasion so special. Students will be watching presentations of ‘good luck’ messages from staff, alongside Mrs Rowe’s painstaking (and painful!) video of photos of students as they have moved through their five years with us!

A full English breakfast (and alternatives!) will be served to all students at 9.30am prompt, at round tables in the main hall, as a thank you from us all for their inspirational dedication to their studies, and their support and contribution to our school community, which in turn has inspired our younger students. They will be a tough act to follow, but their obvious commitment to working hard has pervaded the academy, especially in these most challenging of times.

Teachers and support staff will be able to join students over each of the breaktime periods, to join in signing shirts and leavers’ books, and also to share both good luck and thank you cards with each other. There will be prizes and awards, nominated from within the student body as well as staff.

Students will be attending in full uniform, to facilitate professional photographs being taken, and are welcome to bring good condition PE kit to donate, alongside blazers and ties at the end of the event. Photos will be made available as soon as possible online, and whilst they won’t quite be the same as the Prom, we hope they provide lasting memories.

What a fantastic, fantastic year group. We are REALLY going to miss you! Go out into the world and make a huge difference to the communities where you live and work.
